Wild Oats Winter Dinner - A Great Success
The inaugural Wild Oats Winter Dinner to raise funds for the development of junior sailing at BYS was held last night (Thursday 29 July) in the function room at Life Saving Victoria Port Melbourne.
Around 100 BYS members and guests attended the evening. A highlight of the night was the informative interview with Mark Richards (Principal Helmsman on Wild Oats XI) which was conducted by Rob Mundle (International Author & Yachtsman).
Renourishing Blairgowrie Beach
The Department of Sustainability and Environment and BYS are working together to renourish the beach adjacent to the Blairgowrie Shopping Centre.
The work will involve relocating approximately 10,000 cubic metres of sand from the sand spit opposite the Blairgowrie Safe Boat Harbour. The majority of this sand will be moved to the beach adjacent to the Blairgowrie Shopping Centre. Sand will also be moved west of the harbour and also east to the boat ramp area and in front of the beach huts.

Hands Up! Who wants to help?

Attention to all you budding start box crews! Leonie Gloster is looking for volunteers to put their hands up to help out next season in the start box. Its good fun, great camaraderie and the chance to get away from the kids for a few hours!
So, how about it? See Leonie's post on the bulletin board & drop her an email.
